FWLD filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) case in the Supreme Court challenging the No. 7 of the Chapter on Women's Exclusive Property ( Stri Ansa Dhan ) of the country code that provides "any woman who transfers her property other than her exclusive private property ( daijo and pewa) to any person and if she gets married to the same person who receives such property, such transaction shall be void and the lawful claimant shall be entitled to get such property returned". This provision violated women's property right, equality right, constitutional and legal right. This discriminatory law was challenged by FWLD on 21 March 2006 . Declaring the law as discriminatory, the Supreme Court repealed and finalized it on 23 November 2006 .
