Study on Racial Discrimination

FWLD was involved in the study " Unequal Citizens: Gender, Caste and Ethnic Exclusion in Nepal " conducted by the World Bank and the Department For International Development (DFID) in the year 2005. FWLD was involved in the legal issues of the study. The research was undertaken by a team of Nepali and International scholars and development workers. The study examines the old hierarchies that continue to structure access to political influence and economic opportunities in Nepal . The study has examined gender, caste and ethnicity as three interlocking institutions that determine individual and group access to assets, capabilities and voice based on socially-defined identity.
