Advocacy
Advocacy has been our chief tool to reform the discriminatory laws and policies on human rights especially for women, the marginalized and the disadvantaged. We have organized considerable advocacy programs for the ratification and implementation (Strong Concluding Comments given by CEDAW on the basis of Shadow Report presented) of International Human Rights instruments.
The advocacy we did for the ratification of human rights instruments:
- Ratification of SAARC on Preventing and Combating of Trafficking in Women and Children for Prostitution
- Ratification of Optional Protocol to Convention on the Rights of Child, on Sale of Child, Child Pornography and Child Prostitution
- Ratification of Optional Protocol to Convention on the Rights of Child on prohibition on use of child in arm conflict
- Ratification of OP- CEDAW as a result of continuous advocacy of Civil Society
We believe that multifarious programs of advocacy for human rights will help us procure our goals one day as we have achieved the majority of our goals with the advocacy approach.
